Penny and I attended the Capital Airshow on Sept 24-25 at Mather Air Force Base near Sacramento, Ca. We were located very near the runway both days. On Friday, the show started at 3:30 PM, ending around 7:00 PM. This was by far the best day for photography because of the sun position. Also because of our position.... on Friday the planes took off in front of us with the sun at our backs, so for at least half of the flying time, we weren't looking into the sun. Saturday was worse. The show started at noon and we were positioned behind the liftoff point which meant we had to shoot into the sun most of the day.
