2022 Grimsey, Iceland - Puffins
Read MoreGrimsey is a 2-square mile island located 20 miles north of the Icelandic coast. The Arctic Circle crosses the island at 66 degrees north, making this the northern-most inhabited location in Iceland.
The Grimsey community consists of about 60 hardy people who mostly support themselves by fishing. In addition to the people, there are spectacular numbers of seabirds nesting on Grimsey during the summer months. The birds were the attraction for us. .
Six of us were traveling together.. We met up with 6 other folks in a northern Icelandic port town to begin our adventure.
If you make it through this gallery and haven't seen enough puffin photos, not to worry.... just head on over to the "additional photos" gallery :)
