2022 Patagonia, Featuring Pumas

The iconic Towers that gave the most famous National Park in Patagonia, Torres Del Paine, its name. Patagonia encompasses the vast southernmost tip of South America, shared by Argentina and Chile, with the Andes Mountains serving as its dividing line. I went there in late September to "walk with pumas". That was the description of this trip on the tour company's website (Wild Images). It caught my attention 3 years ago, at which point I signed up for an April, 2020, departure, but Covid forced 2 postponements.

After a 34 hr journey from San Francisco to Houston to Santiago to Puenta Arenas, it was finally time to get excited. At our welcome dinner, the 6 guests and 2 guides got acquainted. We met our puma tracker the next morning.
