2022 Patagonia, Featuring Pumas

Patagonia encompasses the vast southernmost tip of South America, shared by Argentina and Chile, with the Andes Mountains serving as its dividing line. I went there in late September to "walk with pumas". That was the description of this trip on the tour company's website (Wild Images). It caught my attention 3 years ago, at which point I signed up for an April, 2020, departure, but Covid forced 2 postponements.

After a 34 hr journey from San Francisco to Houston to Santiago to Puenta Arenas, it was finally time to get excited. At our welcome dinner, the 6 guests and 2 guides got acquainted. We met our puma tracker the next morning.
