Not 5 minutes after we arrived, we saw this large hippo, Charlie, sneaking up to the river. He's terrified of the big bulls on either side of the lodge, so he enters the water right in front of the common areas as quietly as possible to cool off. His path to the water goes between the outdoor patios. Guests are warned to be on the lookout for him.
