It wasn't long before those of us in Groups 1 & 2 realized the plan was flawed. What a surprise. For starters, it took 95 minutes over the worst dirt road I've ever seen to get to the gorilla research station, where we met the park rangers who would lead us to the gorillas. The 3 of us in Group 1 started hiking, while those in Group 2 were instructed to give us a 1-hour head start.
