Another hotel mural. The weather for our last-day outing into the Sea Of Cortez was the worst of the trip. The original plan called for us to begin the day by snorkeling with juvenile whale sharks, then go about 60 minutes north to a small island for lunch, then go another 30 minutes or so to a different island to snorkel with sea lions. Ambitious even in good weather. By the time we got to the area where the whale sharks feed, the rain and wind had churned up the water's surface, preventing Miguel from spotting the telltale shadows of the big fish. We gave up on whale sharks, which was particularly sad for me since seeing them was one of the main reasons I went to Baja. Instead, we headed for sea lions, 90 minutes away.
