Elkhorn Slough January 2016

Sheri, Penny, and I went kayaking on a Thursday in mid-January. The weather was fine and we were more-or-less alone in the slough, so it was a great day. The animals were very relaxed, allowing us to watch them as they hunted and slept (mostly slept). As soon as we made the turn to head for the entrance to the slough, we came across our first otter resting behind a wall of harbor seals. This otter's coat was the darkest I've ever seen.
