(Video) Sea otters have the thickest fur of all mammals. Their fur consists of two layers - an undercoat with long guard hairs on top. These two layers trap air which heats and thus keeps otter bodies warm. Otters spend hours each day grooming their fur to maintain its air trapping capabilities.
