2017 Bay Area Bald Eagles & more

This is the nest. It's located high in a redwood tree in a residential neighborhood on the property of an elementary school. Bald eagles normally nest in remote areas, so my theory is this nest was built by young eagles who didn't know any better, or by old eagles who no longer care. As of yesterday, just one chick has hatched, but it's so small, we could barely see its little head.
