Great blue heron nesting season is the highlight of spring in the park. This was an especially productive heron year. Couldn't have happened at a better time. The tall scraggly tree on the right is where 9 heron nests sprang to life. The tree sits on a small island in Stow Lake with the larger Strawberry Island (with waterfall) to the left.
