And the reason I knew it was the female is because the male swooped in (literally) from out of nowhere to put a stop to all the nonsense. It was a stunning and very loud display of parental discipline. Mom soon joined dad. It was quite a spectacle until one parent flew off and the other one calmed down. Fortunately my video tripod was in position and I was able to push "on" before grabbing the stills camera, so this sequence got recorded. It will be in the youtube video.
