In the afternoon, we decided to brave the poor weather and go sightseeing. We caught a local bus to Dolmabahce Palace, a blend of various European architectural styles which was built between 1843 and 1856. This palace is famous for its amazing crystal chandeliers and we weren't disappointed, although we did question our judgement about hiking to bus stops in the driving rainstorm.
